Glenable is an Additional Support Needs Provision which supports 25 young people between Primary 1-7.
Our pupils come from all over the authority with some being Gore Glen learners and others having established shared placements with their own catchment primary schools.
Play based learning is a focus point of learning in Glenable and the team are in the process of transitioning into a more play-based environment.
We are hopeful that we can move towards an environment which promotes enquiry, independence and choice. We are developing our delivery of outdoor learning to ensure we are making meaningful and established links in our community.
We also recognise the wide range of supports that individuals benefit from within Glenable and we recognise this through ensuring we provide a wide range of sensory opportunities which also support regulation. We are a total communication provision and adapt to support a wide range of communication strategies: including signalong, use of visuals and of AAC devices.
We’re very fortunate to have a range of learning environments within Glenable, including a sensory room, kitchen space, multi-purpose area aswell as a secure outdoor space.
